ClinicMind

What started as a paid-advertising fix at ClinicMind grew into a full fractional CMO engagement across SEO, AI search visibility, email, reviews, and paid search — with real, tracked wins in every channel.

ClinicMind brought Samantha Paperin on as fractional CMO to fix an underperforming paid-advertising strategy. It grew into something bigger: a full marketing engine rebuilt channel by channel — paid search, organic, AI search visibility, email, and reviews — each with real, tracked results.

Paid Search: Three Early Fixes

ClinicMind's paid advertising was already running through an outside agency, and the reports looked fine on paper — traffic was up, clicks were coming in. But Samantha didn't need to be a paid-search specialist to know something was off. She just needed to keep asking why the numbers didn't add up to real buyers.

Everyone landed on the same generic page. Highly specific ads were sending every click to the same general website pages. Samantha pushed for dedicated landing pages matched to what people were actually searching for. Once they shipped, the campaign in question went from 6 leads to 27, conversion rate improved from roughly 2% to 5.7%, and cost per lead dropped from about $169 to $64.

"More traffic" wasn't real buyers. The agency's advice leaned heavily on growing clicks from more countries. Samantha pushed to focus spend only on the regions where ClinicMind could realistically close business. That quarter, cost per lead on the brand campaign dropped from roughly $62 to $34, while overall lead volume increased.

Reports were full of charts, short on answers. Samantha pushed for cleaner tracking tied directly to business outcomes — the team recovered leads that had been falling through the cracks and finally had real visibility into which campaigns were producing results.

From there, paid search kept improving: CPC held under the $4 target in nearly every month after the first, CTR frequently reached 8–12% (above the ≥10% target in peak months), and cost per lead dropped roughly 86% overall, from $593 in July to $83 in November.

Email: From Everyone Sending Their Own to One Coordinated Program

Before Samantha stepped in, ClinicMind's emails were scattered — different people across the company sending their own, with no shared strategy or standards. She centralized it into one coordinated newsletter program, and the numbers moved fast:

The Takeaway

None of these wins came from one big campaign. They came from treating every channel — paid search, organic, AI search, email, reviews — as something to instrument, test, and hold to a real target. That's what a fractional CMO does: not managing one campaign, but making sure every channel is accountable to numbers that actually matter to the business.

Results

★★★★★

Samantha Paperin came into ClinicMind as a Fractional CMO and did something most marketing leaders struggle to do even full-time: she brought strategic clarity, operational structure, and measurable results — all at once. One insight stands out: Samantha identified newsletters as a high-impact channel for retention and upsell at a time when we weren't treating them as a serious lever. She was right, and that channel continues to deliver. Any company bringing Samantha on as a senior marketing leader will get someone who can think at the board level and still make sure execution doesn't fall through the cracks.
